Egypt: 62 killed and more than 2000 wounded
In shocking scenes, armoured troop-carriers sped into huge crowds in the capital Cairo - while officers unleashed teargas, rubber bullets and water cannon on the anti-government uprising yesterday.
The clashes over the last two days brought the total killed to 62 nationwide and more than 2,000 wounded according to Egyptian security officials.
Meanwhile the country's president Hosni Mubarak has refused to stand aside as demonstrations against his regime look set to enter a SIXTH day.
Some reports put the total death toll after a week of chaos at up to 74, including 10 policemen.
