Ivory Coast current president and loser of latest elections agrees to negotiate end of crisis and free the winner from his defacto jailcell

Via VOA:
The West African bloc ECOWAS says Ivory Coast President Laurent Gbagbo has agreed to negotiate an end to the country's political crisis.

The announcement Tuesday came a few hours after ECOWAS head and Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan said the situation was deadlocked.

Leaders also said Tuesday that Gbagbo's forces will lift a blockade around the hotel where his political rival, Alassane Ouattara, has been holed up for weeks.
